The Branch was formed over 120 years ago and covers an area from the M62 at Ainley Top to Cooper Bridge and across to Emley, Denby Dale, Holmfirth and Marsden to the west. We are very pleased to report that our Branch has won an award in the form of a framed Certificate which was presented at a recent Yorkshire & North East  Regional Board meeting.   This is the “Branch Animal Welfare Award” for the biggest increase in proactive neutering in 2008 compared to 2007 - a total of 249 animals.   This is quite an accolade for our branch considering there are 45 RSPCA branches in the North region and it highlights the huge amount of welfare work carried out by Jane Robinson and her helpers.
